Peerless Is Ending Dry Cleaning Services
For more than 80 years, cleaning has been part of the Peerless story.
Peerless began in 1945 as Peerless Curtain Cleaners. Over the decades, the company changed and grew alongside the needs of the customers and communities we serve. What started as a small local cleaning operation eventually expanded into professional cleaning, property restoration and 24/7 emergency response.
Today marks another change in that story.
Effective September 30, 2026, Peerless is discontinuing our traditional dry-cleaning and laundry-related services.
While it is difficult to close a chapter that has been part of Peerless for so long, we are continuing to grow and focus our resources on the cleaning and restoration services that have become a major part of who we are today.
What Services Are Ending?
Beginning September 30th, Peerless will no longer offer traditional dry-cleaning and related services, including:
- Dry cleaning
- Drapery cleaning
- Linen cleaning
- Duvet cleaning
- Wedding gown cleaning and preservation
- Flag cleaning
For customers who have trusted Peerless with these items over the years, thank you. We appreciate every person, family and business that made this part of Peerless possible.
What Is Staying?
Peerless remains a professional cleaning and restoration company serving residential and commercial customers throughout Central Illinois.
Our professional cleaning services continue to include carpet cleaning, rug cleaning, upholstery cleaning, tile and grout cleaning, air duct cleaning, dryer vent cleaning and commercial cleaning.
And yes, rug cleaning is still available. We know that distinction may be especially important for customers who have used Peerless for both rugs and traditional dry cleaning.
Peerless also continues providing water damage restoration, fire and smoke restoration, mold-related services, storm response, commercial restoration and 24/7 emergency response.
A Business That Has Continued to Change
Peerless today looks very different from the company that opened its doors in 1945.
That is part of being in business for more than eight decades.
Services change. Technology changes. Customer needs change. Through those changes, Peerless has continued to evolve while staying focused on serving our customers and our communities.
Ending dry cleaning is another significant change, but it isn’t the end of Peerless. It’s a shift in where we’re focusing our people, equipment and resources as we move forward.
